Trumps One Big Beautiful Bill, which removes most federal funding from the abortion industry, marks the most significant national pro-life victory since the Dobbs decision. This achievement was made possible because of your steadfast support, your advocacy in your states, and your extraordinary efforts in 2024.We are especially grateful for the leadership of Senate Majority Leader John Thune and House Speaker Mike Johnson. Having once served as legal counsel for Louisiana Right to Life, Speaker Johnsons roots in the movement run deep!Looking ahead, NRLC remains committed to rolling back harmful Biden-era mandates and advancing policies that support women and families, ensuring they have every opportunity to choose life. While federal advocacy remains essential, we recognize that the heart of this battle continues to beat strongest in the states.In 2024 and early 2025, dozens of pro-life laws were enacted thanks to the tireless work of our state affiliates. Today, 28 states have taken steps to restrict access to dangerous abortion pills, and momentum continues to grow. At the same time, hundreds of millions of dollars in state grants and tax credits have been secured for pregnancy centerslifesaving resources for women and children.Yet, challenges persist. In states like Maryland, our affiliates are fighting back against assisted suicide legislation. In otherssuch as Massachusetts, New Jersey and Washingtongovernors are using taxpayer dollars to target pregnancy centers. Meanwhile, the abortion industry is aggressively pushing ballot initiatives in states like Idaho, Nevada and Oregon.This is a 50-state battle, and it demands a 50-state strategy. Thats where we come in. We are focused on educating, engaging and inspiring communities across the nation to build a genuine and lasting culture of life. Public opinion shows there is still much work to be done and why issue education is more important than ever.Through every challenge, the pro-life movement remains resolved. We have never backed down and we wont start now. The 2024 election opened the door to new opportunities, and we must continue to press forward.
